Whispertown 2000:

I'm a sucker for homemade cutely illustrated videos. This band Whispertown 2000 are LA locals on tour now w/ Saddle Creek's Maria Taylor. Check out their video below and go over to their Myspace to hear some more tunes or over to Daytrotter to download their session. They remind me of a more honky tonk, less innocent Tilly and the Wall. They are playing March 31st at The Echo.

Here's a really great new Maria Taylor song....

Sister Vanilla:

Though I cannot get down with the name of this band, Sister Vanilla?? I'm a fond fan of the Jesus and Mary Chain and this new stuff is actually really good. It's a feel-good soundtrack to an otherwise hectic day. I should have posted this when I got it earlier this week but was too busy/lazy. So here it is.... such a jam, aptly named Jamcolas. Along w/ another track.

Sister Vanilla - Can't Stop the Rock

If I were in NYC:

I would totally be going to this. What an awesome fun-time line up.
